About
Why we wrote Carnely.
Carnely began with a conversation. Here is what was said, and what we decided to do about it.

A conversation, two generations.
« I would like to do this for my mother. And for myself too. »
It started with a woman in her sixties. She wanted to write. For herself, for her children, and for her own mother, whose stories she sensed were still untold.
We looked together for the place made for that. Not a digital safe. Not a social feed. Not a remembrance site. Just a quiet place to set down what matters, in your own time, for those dear to you.
That place did not exist. So we wrote it.
What we believe.
You share today, with the people who matter.
Sharing begins while you are here. The people close to you can open the book today, read with you, talk with you about it. It is not a sealed message; it is a long conversation.
Software can hold something simple.
A little book does not need features that distract. No progress bars, no urgent notifications, no algorithm to suggest what to write. A calm, readable place that keeps.
You write at your own pace.
A line today, a chapter in six months, a photograph entrusted to your voice. Carnely expects nothing from you. It waits for you.
A little book keeps.
You can export it as an archive, have it printed, hand it over while you are here. Longevity is a principle, not an option.
What Carnely is not.
Carnely is a little book. It is not a will: no legal standing, no formal provisions.
It is not a digital safe: it is not meant to store your administrative documents or your passwords.
It is not a remembrance site: it is written while you are here, and read while you are here, by those you have chosen.
It is not a social network: no one but your readers ever has access. Never.
Who carries Carnely.
Jean-Charles & Pierre
Carnely is carried by Jean-Charles and Pierre. Two of us, working together on something we first wanted for our own families.
We take the time to write it well, to answer messages ourselves, and to let Carnely keep the slow tempo that suits it.
How the little book lasts.
A little book keeps. Your content stays yours: none of it is analysed, none of it is sold, and your circle keeps free access to whatever you have shared with them.
You can export your book as an HTML archive, have it printed, hand it over while you are here to those you have chosen.
If your subscription ends, the book remains accessible for another twelve months. We do not want a life’s words to hinge on a payment status.

If you want to begin a little book, write its first page.
BeginCarnely is still young. Thank you for being part of it.
